Deserving candidates who are talented in the academic, performing arts, music and sport fields are considered for bursaries for their five-year high school careers from Grade 8 to Grade 12.

Bursaries are dependent on the requirements of the school, as well as the scholar, and may include the following:

  • Full tuition & boarding
  • School & sport tours
  • Monthly allowance
  • Stationery & textbooks
  • Additional tutoring as required
  • School uniform and clothing
  • Transport to and from school for holidays.

A key aspect of the Rialto Project model is a programme of consistent mentorship and support to each bursary recipient. The adjustment for some of the students into their new school environment can be particularly challenging. To provide support to them, the Rialto Project has developed and implemented a comprehensive mentorship programme.

The Rialto Project’s assigned mentors meet with their students on a termly basis, or more frequently if required, to assess areas such as academic progress, well-being and integration into the school. Any concerns are identified and addressed through the appropriate academic and remedial support programmes, including coaching and mentorship.
